Doug passed away in 2021. He  graduated from Gettysburg College and earned a master’s & Ph.D. in history at University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he met Mary.

Doug taught history at Franklin Pierce University for 30 years, served as a legislator in the New Hampshire House of Representatives since 2012, and was House Majority Leader in 2018-2020.

He left behind his wife Mary and 2 sons.
